John,
We’re three days out. Over the next 72 hours, my team will continue talking with justice partners, listening to voters, and focusing on the issues that most impact all of Hennepin County. There’s zero chance we would’ve made it this far without your support.
I got into this race because our public safety system has failed us. We need stronger leadership that understands this broken system from multiple angles. As a prosecutor, former judge, and a Hennepin County resident of the Minneapolis neighborhood most affected by rising crime, my top priorities are restoring transparency and effectiveness in the County Attorney’s office. My approach to criminal and social justice is and always will be systemically transformative. I wouldn’t be running if I didn’t think I could make a difference.
These final days feel a bit easier when I think of all of the voters, unions, and elected officials who have my back in this race. I’m proud to have the support of Congressman Dean Phillips, the Star Tribune, Insight News, Don Samuels, 30 Hennepin County mayors, law enforcement, senior prosecutors, and public defenders. We don’t have enough cash to print the number of lawn signs that folks have requested of us. This is a problem, of course – but not necessarily a bad one to have.
As the only candidate with a public safety plan to keep us all safe, I’m counting on you to cast a ballot in support of justice, fairness and integrity this Tuesday. Don’t forget it – and forward this email to everyone you know in Hennepin County. I need your help now more than ever.
Regards,
Martha
