But I also completely understand if you need more justification than that to invest your hard-earned money in a political campaign, especially when you’re being inundated with emails right now asking for your help.

So here are five reasons I hope that you will choose this campaign in particular to give your support to in these last three days of the election:

1) Unlike the vast majority of elected officials, I know what it’s like to struggle to make ends meet. I worked all kinds of jobs — from cleaning houses to working behind the counter at a bagel shop — to support my family and put myself through school. And in Congress, I’ll fight for opportunities for regular people, not special-interest elites.

2) I helped pass Colorado’s law protecting abortion rights — and I will fight night and day in Congress to pass federal legislation protecting the right to choose in all 50 states.

3) Unlike my opponent, who is endorsed by the gun lobby, I will fight for federal action to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and domestic abusers — just like I did here in Colorado.

4) My opponent is an election denier. I am committed to protecting our democracy.

5) My opponent and Kevin McCarthy want to put Social Security and Medicare on the chopping block. My response to that is: Not on my watch.
