CAMPAIGN UPDATES
ENDORSEMENT: Star Tribune Editorial Board Endorses Governor Walz
In an editorial endorsing Governor Walz [[link removed]] in last Sunday’s paper, the Star Tribune Editorial Board laid out a compelling case for reelecting the Governor. The board cited his response to COVID-19 and leadership during crises as key reasons for their endorsement, as well as his plans for public safety, education, and the economy.
The editorial board also highlighted several concerns about Scott Jensen’s character and his dangerous agenda, including his contradictory and poorly thought-out plans, abortion extremism and backtracking, gun safety flip-flopping, and plans for a sales tax hike in favor of tax cuts for the rich.
DEBATE: Governor Walz Clear Winner at Final Debate
Governor Walz was the clear winner at last Friday’s debate on Minnesota Public Radio, demonstrating that he is the best candidate to move Minnesota forward. At the final debate, Governor Walz touted his accomplishments – including the lowest unemployment rate in the country and his leadership keeping Minnesotans safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. He drew a clear contrast with Scott Jensen, who has promised to cut funding for public schools, ban abortion even for victims of rape and incest, and cut taxes for the wealthy while raising sales taxes that impact middle-class families, including on food and clothing.
Jensen also spent a huge portion of the debate defending – and spreading – anti-vaccine conspiracy theories. This includes the conspiracy theory [[link removed]] that hospitals have inflated COVID deaths to get more money and the false claim that the vaccine has killed more than 10,000 people [[link removed]] .

We released our final TV ad of the 2022 cycle, “Our Future” [[link removed]] . The ad highlights how Governor Walz and Lt. Governor Flanagan will protect women’s rights, fight for fully funded schools, and support tax relief for middle-class families in their second term.

While in the area, we also kicked off a door knock before heading to Fergus Falls to gather with supporters and Mayor Ben Schierer.
The following day, the Governor and Lt. Governor headed to Duluth to unveil the endorsement of the Minnesota Professional Fire Fighters union, followed by rallies at the University of Minnesota Duluth and the Duluth Labor Temple.
