John, I get it. For a long time, politics were like entertainment to me. Over the last ten years, as our economy crashed; as millions lost their jobs and their homes; as the cost of healthcare skyrocketed and wages dropped like a rock -- I was no longer amused. I became angry and cynical.

I knew that despair was not an option. And that’s when I found Brand New Congress -- a group of passionate crusaders transforming Congress to work for working people.

Through all the darkness of the last three years, a stubborn fire of hope has burned in the belly of every candidate, every volunteer, and every organizer with Brand New Congress.

I wake up to the same horrifying headlines you do every day. I want you to know that it’s okay to worry, and it’s normal to have doubts. But I also want you to know that it’s okay to believe.

In 2018 when the deck was stacked against us, we said “To hell with it,” and used a different deck. And look what we achieved together.

In 2018 we changed the game. In 2020 we are claiming our power. I’m asking you to take a leap of faith with me. Together, we will make the impossible inevitable.
