This summer’s reversal of
Roe v. Wade put reproductive rights, privacy, and bodily autonomy on the ballot in November. Gun safety is on the ballot. Addressing inflation and the rising costs on the ballot. These are just a few issues that have come up since we kicked off this campaign.
The fight to unseat Young Kim and keep the House majority is more urgent than ever. Here are some of the most memorable moments of this race:
- In June, Dr. Mahmood advanced through the CA-40 primary and earned the largest vote share of any candidate along the way.
- We also learned that two-thirds of local voters rejected anti-choice extremist Young Kim during the Primary.
- Help came in from Kevin McCarthy and other special interest groups. They committed about $1.6 MILLION against Dr. Mahmood in the past couple of months.
- This campaign has garnered impressive support from residents in CA-40 and beyond. Since our start, we’ve seen support from celebrities like Rosario Dawson to leaders like Vice-President Kamala Harris, Senators Cory Booker and Alex Padilla, Governor Newsom, Representative Katie Porter, and so many more.
Only 5 seats are standing between McCarthy and the Speaker's gavel, and the outcome of our race could mean winning or losing House control.
