Hi John,
I’m reaching out about the most important Senate race in the country, which could decide whether Democrats hold onto and strengthen our majority: my friend Catherine Cortez Masto’s race in Nevada.
Catherine knows a thing or two about making cracks in glass ceilings. Back in 2016, Republicans spent $50 million trying to defeat her. Pundits and pollsters counted Catherine out, predicting Nevada would flip red. But she fought her heart out and overcame it all, becoming our nation’s first and only Latina senator.
History has a way of repeating itself: Catherine once again is facing Republican attacks that media reports have called “unprecedented” – with Mitch McConnell and his allies spending more than $55 million to defeat her. Every major election forecaster – The New York Times, CNN, Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight – has called Catherine the most vulnerable senator on the ballot. Experts are saying Nevada is Mitch McConnell’s best hope at flipping a seat red, and he only needs to pick up one seat to take back control of the Senate.
