John, when we talk about the barriers that progressive candidates of color face, this is exactly the kind of unfairness and attacks we mean:

The far right is so committed to fear-mongering about crime rates and police funding that they’re flat-out LYING about candidates like my friend Ricky.

We endorsed Ricky because he’s using his platform to help first-generation college students and immigrant families build the futures they deserve. And Trevor Noah stood up for him because true democracy means letting the people vote based on facts, not racist fictions.

But last election cycle, Ricky beat his anti-choice GOP opponent by just four HUNDRED votes – so the right is pulling out its dirtiest tricks to win this year’s rematch.

Ricky never wore the T-shirt his opponent wants people to believe he did. That’s simply not the truth. Here is the truth, John:
