Dear John,
It’s easy to become complacent when subjected to the constant negative hum of political attack ads. Maybe you’ve heard a friend or relative say: “They’re all jerks anyway, so who cares?” Maybe you’ve thought that! We’ve certainly heard that sentiment as we talk to folks at their doors. And it’s a problem.
We’re at the precarious peak of a very steep hill. Every vote moves us closer to safety and democracy. Every lost vote moves us closer to a diminished life for us and future generations. Complacency is not an option.
Our entire team will be out at doors this week. Will you join us in Stevens Point?

Make no mistake, engendering complacency is a strategy. The disgusting nature of the racist attack ads the Michels and Johnson campaigns have released aren’t just meant to rile up their radical base, they are designed to make you feel tired, sick, and hopeless – less likely to vote.
We’re here to remind you that’s nonsense. There is a striking distinction between the candidates. Just this week Michels said to a group of supporters that if he is elected, Republicans will never lose an election in Wisconsin again. Ever.
We've devoted every resource we have to this election. We’ve knocked hundreds of thousands of doors and targeted crucial climate voters. Your gifts continue to support this work, for this election and the next one: [[link removed]]
Our future, the future of our natural world, our health, our children and grandchildren’s health, our financial well-being, and the sacred promise of our nation – the right to select our own representatives – are in critical peril.
This is no time for complacency. This is the time to act.
