Adam Schiff for Congress

John, if the past week tells us anything, it’s that the extreme zealots leading the Republican Party haven’t made a single effort to lower the temperature in our political climate after January 6th.

It’s only getting hotter. And more dangerous.

Republican candidates, like that running for Arizona governor, joke about the violence but there is nothing funny about it. In fact, it is deadly serious.

GOP Arizona gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake jokes about political violence at a campaign event while the crowd and moderator laugh

Many other Republicans have made similar – or worse – remarks.

And the response from the vast majority of Republican elected officials and candidates?

Crickets.

John, there are two kinds of Republicans allowed in today’s GOP:

The ones who deny elections, incite political violence, and vilify their opponents.

And the ones who stand by and watch it happen — as democracy teeters on the edge.

They don’t have the guts to stand up to extremists in their own party. Or Trump.

They don’t have the integrity to condemn political violence when they think it benefits them electorally.

And they don’t deserve one iota of political power.

So I’m asking, John:

PLEASE contribute any amount to our campaign in these final days of the midterm election to help defend our House and Senate majorities and show the GOP that if they continue to incite political violence, we WILL hold them accountable at the ballot box.

I fear very much for the future of our country and democracy if Republicans are allowed to return to power.

But with your support, I know we have what it takes to defeat them.

Thank you.
