Folks – when President Obama came to rally Democrats in Michigan last week, I thought back to his Michigan rally in 2018, during my first run for Congress.

After helping save over 200,000 Michigan auto jobs, I felt a call to serve my community in Congress. I decided to go for it, even though people told me it would be impossible to flip MI-11 blue.

But I'm not one to listen to the skeptics - I rolled up my sleeves. And thanks to this incredible people-powered campaign, we shocked the country by flipping a battleground district that had been in Republican control for over 50 years.

Then, in 2020 we held this seat - despite Republicans spending millions of dollars trying to defeat me.

Now, I’m running to be the first Democrat ever to serve MI-11 for three consecutive terms. I’m proud of my results – and I’d be honored to serve another term and continue to deliver results to my constituents.

But the GOP isn’t giving up yet. They’d love nothing more than to kick me out of Congress and replace me with a Trump-loving rubber stamp for the Republican Party.
