Dear Mr. xxxxxx:
Good Saturday morning. We've got a big day of some really good college football games. But before you get too busy, I wanted to give you an update on what is going on in Washington and back here in Alabama.
We are gearing up to return to Washington for the final stretch of the 117th Congress. There is a lot to do before we wrap up and head into 2023.
Commitment to America
As the schedule currently stands, Congress has just four more weeks of business on the calendar in 2022, and with a potential Republican majority looming, Democrats are sure to try and pass last-minute harmful policies that contradict everything we believe in Alabama’s 4th District.
House Republicans have outlined a list of priorities and strategies for the purpose of getting our country back on track.
The Commitment to America is a wide-ranging plan laid out by Republican leadership and Members of Congress that seeks to resolve the countless problems President Biden and House Democrats have caused in the last two years.
I encourage you to read about the Commitment to America as we look forward to the possibility of a Republican majority in the House of Representatives come January.
Diesel Fuel Shortage
You may have heard word of a diesel fuel shortage projected by a major energy company that will primarily affect several states in the southeast United States, including Alabama. I want you to know that my staff and I are closely monitoring this situation and are prepared to do what we can to help ease the impact of any diesel shortages in Alabama.
It’s no secret we are in this situation because of President Biden’s failure to focus on American energy production. Due to overzealous green energy policies, European nations are already feeling the pain of these types of problems and now the Biden Administration is following suit here in the U.S., with the same results.
I recently sent a letter to President Biden, with many of my Republican colleagues, urging him to put together a five-year energy plan to ensure that these types of shortages and price hikes never happen again.
Back here in Bama
On October 18th, I helped welcome Radiance Technologies to North Alabama. Companies like Radiance will play a key role in our efforts to strengthen America’s military to meet the challenges coming from Russia, Iran, North Korea, and most of all China. These companies also employee many people who live in the 4th District.
Working with North Alabama Leaders
My wife Caroline and I were honored to sit down with leaders from North Alabama to discuss how we can strengthen our relationships and work together for the people of the 4th District.
Among those attending were Mayor Derrick Silcox of Leighton, Mike Parker of Town Creek, and Linda Peebles of Courtland. We were also joined by Tommy Barnes from the Colbert County Commission.
Inspiring Our Future Generation
Two weeks ago, I was asked to record a video for students at Albertville Middle School. In the video I was asked to answer the question, "what would I tell my middle school self if I could go back in time." You can watch my response by clicking the link below.
Happy Veterans Day
While Memorial Day is a day to remember those who gave their lives in defense of our nation, Veterans Day is a day to remember all those who have served. So, to all of our veterans who have, and are serving, in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard and Space Force, thank you for your service.
May God bless you and your loved ones.
Sincerely,
Robert B. Aderholt
