| I’m out of time. I'm a first-time candidate, veterans advocate, and political outsider. I'm the mom of 3 boys and the wife of an Army veteran. Like too many military families, I received a call that shattered my dreams. My husband, Scotty, was severely wounded while serving America in Iraq. It was at that moment that my life changed forever: Then, I made it my life's work to ensure every veteran gets the benefits and care they earned.
