John,
In August, we witnessed a major victory in Kansas in which the people came out in record numbers to say NO to a ballot measure that would have made abortion virtually illegal in the state. We then saw back-to-back, pundit-defying wins for pro-choice Democratic House candidates in New York’s 19 th district and in Alaska. These major victories for privacy rights and freedoms in Kansas, New York and Alaska are part of a drumbeat that we are hearing across America that we are not going back!
Democrats are eager to fight this fight alongside Voto Latino this November in states like Texas, Arizona, Nevada and Pennsylvania to stand for reproductive freedom and to elect leaders who will stand with us on the Floor of the Congress. As Speaker of the House, I have fought back Republicans whose end goal was always to overturn our constitutional rights to privacy, bodily autonomy and marriage equality. They will not relent. Thankfully, neither will we.
In the wake of the Dobbs ruling, Voto Latino has registered and mobilized thousands of new pro-choice voters and volunteers. Now, as we head into the 2022 midterms, they are expanding their voter outreach efforts even further to young Latinos who are likely to support pro-choice candidates in November.
Join me in supporting Voto Latino as they work to reach and turn out voters who share our values and support reproductive freedoms.
Sincerely,
NANCY
