Hi John,
Here at OCYD, we believe in the power of our voices and the power of our vote.
With Election Day coming up this Tuesday, Orange County Young Democrats just like you have been working hard during this election season so that our generation can make a difference at the polls on Election Day!
There is a lot of misinformation being spread about young people in politics right now, but one thing is clear: Our generation is engaged, excited, and ready to make a difference in our community! Let’s get together to mobilize young voters and encourage them to turn out in waves this November 8th.
We need all hands on deck as we head into next week. This is a critical time for us as there are many issues at stake for young people including affordable healthcare and education, climate change, gun control and so much more. You can take action by signing up and volunteering for our candidates (including our YPP candidates) below!
Jessica Guerrero for Anaheim Union High School District Trustee Area 1:
Jessica is an alum and former tutor of Anaheim Union High School District, and she is ready to give back to the schools that have given so much to her and her family. She is running to expand the educational opportunities and access to resources for our students and community, and will prioritize advocating for 21st century learning, securing school safety, expanding community collaboration, and supporting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.

He is running to address rising housing costs, uplift local small businesses, and tackle chemical and environmental pollution to improve the quality of life for all residents.

Katrina Foley for OC Board of Supervisors:
Katrina is a community leader, successful businesswoman, working mom, and attorney who was elected as Orange County's newest Supervisor in 2021. She’s running for re-election to continue advocating for small businesses, championing climate action, creating solutions to reduce homelessness, improving the access and quality of mental healthcare, increasing neighborhood safety, and championing reproductive rights as a proud endorsee of Planned Parenthood. Katrina is canvassing with our other endorsed candidates, Katie Porter for Congress and Cottie Petrie-Norris for State Assembly!

Katie Porter for CA-45:
Congresswoman Katie Porter is a member of the House Oversight and Reform Committee and Vice Chair of the Subcommittee on Government Operations, where she’s asked tough questions of bank CEOs and administration officials to hold them accountable to the American people. She’s running for re-election to continue to put Orange County families and communities first.

Young voters are diverse — we come from different backgrounds, have different experiences of growing up in America, and yet reflect our communities in so many ways. Despite these differences, we share common values: We believe in climate action, racial justice, gender equality, LGBTQ rights, and effective gun control.
Help us win the Orange County we deserve by volunteering for these Young People’s Platform and OCYD endorsed candidates today.
Yours in Solidarity,
Orange County Young Democrats
