Governor Walz Celebrates $97 Million in New Funding to Support Small Business Owners Across the State

This week, Governor Walz celebrated?$97 million in new funding to support small businesses. This follows last week's visit to?Northfield, where the Governor heard from small business owners on what that funding means for them ? and how he can keep collaborating with small businesses to move Minnesota forward.

?We?re working to strengthen our economy from the ground up ? and that means investing in our small businesses across the state,??said Governor Walz.?

Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan highlighted actions they've taken to help keep Minnesota's economy strong and growing.

"From cutting taxes for working families to providing $2.7 billion in tax relief for small businesses, I?ve worked across the aisle to ensure Minnesotans can keep more of their hard-earned money in their pockets," said Governor Walz. "Amid global market uncertainty and national inflation, I?ll continue taking action to lower costs and invest in our small businesses to keep our economy strong and growing."?


Governor Walz Highlights Continued Efforts to Address Crime, Gun Violence


Governor Walz highlighted Minnesota State Patrol's increased presence in the Twin Cities metro area to help get Minnesotans home safely Halloween weekend.??

State Patrol has?extended its Highway Enforcement for Aggressive Traffic (HEAT) program through the end of the year. Motorists will continue to see a significant State Patrol presence on freeways around the state while troopers focus on excessive speeding and criminal activity.?Since last spring, Governor Walz also invested nearly $7 million in federal American Rescue Plan funds in the state?s public safety efforts to combat violent crime and support victims of crime across the state.
