Dear John,

Inflation is out of control. Families are paying more for groceries, housing, gas, and just about everything else. Let's be clear: Democrats' reckless federal spending
is to blame for the state of our economy. Southern Californians and hardworking Americans across the country need more choices, not fewer.

That's why it's so absurd that Gov. Gavin Newsom and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) have declared the end of gas-powered cars by 2035. With our ongoing energy crisis and skyrocketing costs, this is one more radical agenda item that will make life harder for Californians. I'm pushing back.

I met this week with my Parents Advisory Board to brainstorm ways that we can better support parents and their children, and I had the privilege to honor some veterans in our community.

Get the details about all of this and more below, and make sure to follow my FacebookInstagram, and Twitter to get these updates in real-time.
Standing Up to Sacramento's Radical Agenda
Democrats’ agenda has driven gas prices far above the national average, crippled our trucking industry, and broken our supply chain. Now, Gov. Newsom wants to ban gas-powered cars. Californians are already being instructed not to charge their electric vehicles due to our ongoing lack of energy. Enacting further restrictions on how working families can get to work and school, or how businesses can transport their goods, is absurd and will have serious, real-life consequences for Californians.

That is why, Rep. Doug La Malfa (R-CA) and I led the California Republican Congressional delegation in sending a letter to Governor Newsom regarding the recent decision by the California Air Resource Board (CARB) to advance their August 2022 mandate that requires 100% of new car sales to be zero-emission vehicles (ZEV) by 2035.

As Southern Californians continue to struggle under the weight of inflation, these misguided polices are wrong and harmful. Sacramento needs to wake up and reverse course before it’s too late.
I met with my Parents Advisory Board this week to get their thoughts on how we can create better educational opportunities for our kids, keep our communities safe, and make this the best place to live, learn, and work. Big thank you to the Board Members for taking the time to have these important conversations.
Honoring Our Heroes
With Veterans Day just around the corner, I asked you to nominate veterans you feel deserve special recognition to receive the Veterans of Distinction award. I'm pleased to have met with the honorees this week.

It was a privilege to have the opportunity to recognize these amazing veterans for their service to our nation. Congratulations and thank you for your service. I'll be sharing more about the honorees in the coming days, so be sure to stay tuned.
Stopping the Administration's
$80 Billion IRS Expansion
The Biden Administration’s $80 billion plan to target middle- and low- income families with a flood of audits must be stopped. I’m leading the fight to do just that.

DEADLINE TODAY: Military Service Academy Nominations
For high schoolers thinking about their futures, deciding what to do after graduation can be stressful. Whether studying the trades, attending a traditional four-year university, or joining the workforce, the decisions may seem overwhelming.

Attending one of our nation's Military Service Academies is both an incredible opportunity and a distinguished honor for those seeking a top-notch college education. Attendance comes with the obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation.

Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

If a student in your life is thinking about applying to one of the military service academies, be sure to visit my website to learn all about the application process, receiving a Congressional nomination, and how my office can assist you!
