Hi Friend,

Did you know millions of Texans have already cast their ballots in the midterm election? It’s so important that we get as many folks as we can to show up to the polls and vote for Democrats up and down the ballot. Our privacy, our health, our pocketbooks and even the air and water we need to survive are on the line. There is no time to waste.

Friend, can you believe that our state Comptroller -- the person responsible for Texas’ taxes -- has never been a certified public accountant? Glenn Hegar is proving why that’s a big problem.

Despite being our state’s “accountant,” the Comptroller’s office has been anything but accountable. The 29 million Texans who pay taxes every day deserve accountability. They deserve elected officials who will be good stewards of their money. But instead, Glenn Hegar has allowed our state’s leadership to abuse its power and waste, overspend, and misuse our taxpayer dollars time and again.

Friend, that’s unacceptable. I wouldn’t trust Glenn Hegar to manage my money, so why should we trust him to manage the ninth largest economy in the world? With him at the helm, Texas ranks almost dead last in public education, public health and air & water quality. Are you okay with his results? I’m not.

While Glenn Hegar is happy to open our state's pocketbooks to let his donors take advantage of us and get a free ride, it’s us everyday Texans who are paying the bill. Individual taxes are among the highest in the nation, unless you’re in the top 1%. Aren’t you sick and tired of being played? I know I am.

I will be the first CPA to sit in the Comptroller’s office. We can keep government out of our private business. We can save money and cut property taxes. We can save lives by expanding Medicaid and providing comprehensive mental and physical healthcare to millions of Texans. We can give teachers the wages, benefits, and respect they deserve.

So will you split $7 between my campaign and the Texas Democratic Party to vote out the lapdog and elect a watchdog to be Texas’ Comptroller?
