Weekly Wrap-Up: No More Censorship

This week, a bombshell report from The Intercept revealed new details about the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) insidious efforts to censor Americans.

The leaked documents show that DHS is actively working with Big Tech to silence dissenting opinions by labeling these ideas as “misinformation” or “disinformation.”

The Intercept’s report revealed that DHS, the FBI, tech companies, and other media entities conduct biweekly meetings to regulate speech on social media platforms. DHS officials are actively attempting to censor information related to the origins of COVID, conversations about vaccines, the botched US withdrawal from Afghanistan, US support to Ukraine, and more.

It’s clear that the ill-fated Disinformation Governance Board from earlier this year was just the tip of the iceberg. While that public effort was scrapped, the same nefarious work continued behind the scenes. We cannot tolerate this direct threat to Americans’ right to speak freely.

Congress can also no longer afford to sit on the sidelines. That’s why my office is currently drafting legislation to impose harsh criminal penalties on government officials who violate Americans’ 1^st amendment rights. I will be sure to keep you updated on all developments on this front.

Critical Race Theory: Dangerous and Un-American

Critical Race Theory (CRT) is a destructive ideology that teaches children to hate America and view people solely through the lens of race. Race essentialism and noxious anti-Americanism have no place in our schools. But our tax dollars continue to fund this poison.

My colleague, Representative Jim Banks, and I have both been working to completely defund CRT on the federal level.

America is the greatest nation on earth, and it’s our goal to keep it that way. We wrote for Fox News about this effort’s importance and some of the legislation we’ve introduced to battle CRT.

Bah Humbug: Biden’s Holiday Wreckage

Did you notice that Halloween candy prices skyrocketed this year? That wasn’t a mistake. Democrats’ tax and spend policies are responsible for these astronomical price hikes. Thanksgiving and Christmas are shaping up to be much the same.

Yahoo Finance reports that 1 in 4 Americans are planning to skip Thanksgiving celebrations altogether. CBS News writes about how expensive Christmas will be this year due to the rising cost of travel, food, and presents.

As if that weren’t bad enough, a CNN Business report warns that Christmas trees will also cost more this holiday season.

To prevent inflation from worsening, Congress will need to stand strong and reject further spending sprees from the Biden Administration. I am committed to bringing fiscal sanity to the swamp. We cannot afford another Christmas tree omnibus bill that is rife with pork barrel spending and handouts to liberal pet projects, especially while Americans are struggling to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas.

FBI & DOJ Politicization: New Judiciary Committee Report

This morning, House Judiciary Committee Republicans released an authoritative new report detailing the troubling whistleblower reports we have received. This report details how the FBI is unaccountable, rife with abuse and manipulation, and biased against conservatives.

This report will be part of the foundation for thorough investigations into these corrupt and weaponized agencies.

Affirmative Action at the Supreme Court

In case you missed it, the Supreme Court this week heard cases brought against Harvard and UNC for discriminating against Asian-American students based on their race. The Court will rule next year on whether race should be a factor in college admissions.
