NOVEMBER 4, 2022
Dear Fourth District Constituent,
Bringing federal resources to the Fourth District to serve my constituents' needs is my top priority in Congress, and I believe government works best when we work together on all levels to improve people's lives.
Investing in Community Safety
Today, Mayor Carter and I had the opportunity to visit with Saint Paul Police, including incoming Chief Henry, to celebrate the Department's receipt of new state-of-the-art communications equipment made possible because of our collaborative effort to secure $2 million in federal Community Project Funding last year.
In an emergency, every second counts—that's why it's so critical that first responders have the equipment needed to communicate quickly and effectively to keep people safe. I'm grateful to our community partners who helped fulfill this critical and timely need!
Standing Up For Human Rights
October 2 marked four years since the murder of U.S. resident and journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the hands of the Saudi government. This was a gross human rights violation and a brutal crime.
That’s why I introduced the Jamal Khashoggi Protection for Dissidents and Journalists Act of 2022 with Congressman Adam Schiff, to demand the U.S. government imposes accountability and justice for anyone who would attack democratic voices, including a free and open press.

November 8 Election
From continuing to respond to the pandemic, to supporting Ukraine in its fight for freedom against Putin’s unprovoked and illegal war, to fighting historic inflation and standing up against extremism, 2022 has been another year filled with unprecedented challenges. Thankfully, we have the opportunity right now to shape our collective future.
The last day to vote in the midterm election is this Tuesday, Nov. 8. Learn where and when you can vote at mnvotes.org, and be sure to make your plan for when you’ll cast your ballot.
Minnesota has a proud record of high voter participation – let’s keep it up in 2022. Our democracy is strongest when more voices are heard.
As always, don’t hesitate to reach out with your policy opinion or if you need help with a federal agency. Thank you for being an informed and engaged constituent.
Sincerely,
Betty McCollum
Member of Congress
