News from Representative Larson

Dear Friends,

I know how rising costs strain families and our neighbors, particularly those on fixed incomes. Bringing down costs for working families has been my top priority in Congress. Most recently, I voted to pass the Inflation Reduction Act, landmark legislation to lower prescription drug costs, health care premiums, and energy bills.

For the first time ever, Medicare will be empowered to negotiate lower drug prices for beneficiaries. Insulin costs will be capped at $35 per month for Medicare recipients and no senior will pay more than $2,000 in annual out-of-pocket prescription drug costs.

Additionally, the Inflation Reduction Act ensures no American pays more than 8.5% of their income on their health care premiums. The average Connecticut resident enrolled on the health care exchange will save more than $1,600.

As a member of the Ways and Means Committee, I worked with my colleagues to secure critical benefits to lower household energy costs, including home energy rebate programs and tax credits to make homes more energy efficient. Connecticut homeowners will see their utility bills reduced by more than $300 on average annually. To learn more about how you can save money on energy costs, visit CleanEnergy.gov

The Inflation Reduction Act will make a real difference for Connecticut families and ensures the wealthy pay their fair share.
