In close elections like this one, there's one variable that matters most:
turnout.

In 2018 and 2020, Democrats turned out in record numbers, powering a blue
wave in 2018 in which Democrats picked up 41 House seats and defeating
Donald Trump in 2020.

The outcome of this year's midterm elections depend on whether those
Democratic "surge voters" in 2018 and 2020—who are largely young people
and people of color—turn out to vote again this year.

And those are the precise voters MoveOn is laser-focused on turning out:
6.6 million surge voters in the most important battleground states, to be
exact.

The New York Times ran a headline this week about the "2022 Turnout
Mystery."^1

The article stated, "It's the biggest mystery of the midterms: Which
groups of voters will turn out in the largest numbers?"^2

MoveOn's team of data scientists spent months building and fine-tuning
custom predictive models to identify the precise voters in the key states
we need to turn out to win. Then they conducted unique and innovative
scientific experiments to figure out the right messages and methods to
communicate with these critical voters and motivate them to vote.

We know who they are and how best to reach them, and now we need to turn
