Maintaining a steady flow of support is crucial. We know people pay a lot of attention to their screens – that's why our effort on the digital campaign trail needs to match the effort we put in face-to-face. Before I explain, John, will you donate to keep us pushing?

We often reach out via email because we have the space to give you all the details about who Dr. Venkat is and how he's fighting to improve our communities. They also allow you to hear from people like me, who work on his team, and people like his wife Dr. Veena Venkat, who knows him the best.

We want you to get a real sense of Dr. Venkat and his genuine passion for the community, and that doesn't always come across the same in a yard sign or a mailer.

But digital campaigning gets expensive fast. Texts alone are 3 cents a piece, and that's nowhere near the cost of keeping a TV ad on air.
