** Everyone Hates Matt Gaetz

Whether it’s the conspiratorial rantings about the 2020 election, the still-ongoing sex trafficking investigation, or his online bullying of teenagers, he’s the picture definition of deplorable.
But let us take a minute to brag on the woman running against him, because she’s more than just “the person running against Matt Gaetz.”
Rebekah grew up the second of four children to teenage parents in rural, south Mississippi. She earned a full scholarship to Syracuse University, where she graduated cum laude even after having her son midway through college ([link removed]) . Rebekah then went on to earn her Master of Science degree from LSU in climate science, then moved to Florida in 2016 to begin her doctoral studies.
Along the way, she was elected thrice to the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications student representative committee, was appointed by the Dean of her college at LSU to the Presidential Transition Advisory Committee (one of only two graduate students at the university appointed), and won some of the highest honors in her field.
Rebekah Jones is a published, award-winning, and internationally celebrated scientist whose research focuses on reconstructing historical hurricanes over the last 18,000 years. You can read her very long scientific and professional credentials in the resume below.
Rebekah committed her education and career to studying climate change and its impacts on extreme weather after experiencing the destructive force of hurricanes first-hand in 2005 with Hurricane Katrina. Rebekah worked in public service as a scientist, researcher and disaster response manager for more than a decade before setting her sights on Congress.
At only 33 years old, she’s already won or been named:
+ Forbes 2021 (and first ever) Technology Person of the Year
+ Fortune’s 40 Under 40 in Healthcare (2020)
+ Whistleblower of the Year (2021)
+ Elemental’s “50 Experts to Trust in a Pandemic” (2020)
+ a John Maddox Prize nominee (2021), the ‘Nobel Prize in Science Advocacy’
Bonus!
The Daily Beast named her “Ron DeSantis’ Worst Nightmare ([link removed]) ” and CNN one of their “Political Gamechangers to Watch.”
Rebekah took her celebrity and turned it into positive change, taking on Florida’s corrupt political landscape from the very bottom to the very top.
She’s outraised every Democratic congressional candidate in Florida in small donor contributions except her good friend Maxwell Frost, a fellow trailblazer and ally.
Despite all Ron DeSantis, Matt Gaetz and the Florida GOP have done to Rebekah and her family, she remains steady, strong and ready to serve in her pursuit of a more equitable, just America. Congress would be lucky to have her, and we’re lucky to be on her team.
THAT is why this conservative district has Matt Gaetz and Rebekah Jones tied so far in exit polling.
THAT is why you should help us cross the finish line by donating to Rebekah's campaign today.
Not just because you hate Matt Gaetz – but because Rebekah Jones is someone worth fighting for.
