Coalition Community Update

Dear Friends,

The 2022 Night to Fight Hunger was a night we won't soon forget. Watch this video to relive that memorable night!

It was so great to see our #HungerFighters together in-person, after 3 years at a distance. If you were able to attend, we hope that you enjoyed the night as much as we did. We couldn't be more thankful to everyone who sponsored, volunteered, donated, purchased tickets, and contributed items to our silent auction. You made the night a success, and your support truly makes a difference as we work together to build food security across the Philadelphia region.

Now that the 2022 Night to Fight Hunger is over, we want to hear from you - even if you weren't able to attend! Please take a moment to answer a few questions that will help us improve our future events. As a thank you for taking the time to give us feedback, we'll randomly select one person who completes the survey to win a $25 VISA gift card!

If you weren't able to join us, it's not too late to lend your support.

Make a donation today to help end hunger!

Policy and Advocacy

Election Day: It is almost time to vote! The midterm election will be held on Tuesday November 8, and it’s time to make a plan to ensure that your voice will be heard! Have questions about when the polls will be open, where to vote, what you need to bring, where to return a mail-in or absentee ballot, or what your rights are at the polls? SNAP Emergency Allotments (EAs): The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved Pennsylvania’s request to issue EAs in November. EAs are the extra SNAP payments issued in the second half of the month. For more information, including payment dates, see our EA Flyer for November.

Simplified Filing for the Child Tax Credit: It’s not too late for families to claim the tax benefits they qualify for. Families can use the simplified filing tool at www.GetCTC.org/CAH, which allows families without a tax filing obligation to quickly claim the Child Tax Credit, Earned Income Tax Credit, and any missing portion of the third stimulus payment.

Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP): LIHEAP, a program that provides assistance for home heating bills so that Pennsylvanians with low incomes can stay warm and safe during the winter months, is now open for the 2022-2023 season. Applications for both renters and homeowners will be open from November 1, 2022 to April 28, 2023.
