This is it, Team.
This is one of the last times you will hear from me before Election Day. As we head into the final weekend before Election Day, I want to reflect on the last midterm election in Michigan.
The 2018 election was the first general election since former President Trump was elected in 2016. For years, Michigan Democrats worked across the state to build a powerful grassroots structure, which we called MDP’s Project 83. We organized in every single one of Michigan’s 83 counties with one goal: help Michigan Democrats win.
Well, we did win. Not only did we elect Michigan Democrats up and down the ballot, but we helped Democrats regain control of the U.S. House to stop Trump’s extreme agenda.
Fast forward to 2022. This year, we’re fighting to protect and expand the progress we’ve worked so hard to achieve. We are working to reelect Governor Whitmer, Attorney General Dana Nessel, and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson AND flip both chambers of Michigan’s legislature blue.
If we can repeat what we did in 2018, Michigan’s progress will be truly unstoppable. Michigan Democrats will use their power to protect abortion access and the integrity of elections. They will lead our state to a brighter future that will benefit generations of Michiganders.
When I look forward to November 9th, I see a bright future with Michigan Democrats leading us forward. But we cannot take our foot off the gas and we cannot slow down.
