GOP House candidate proposes new post-Dobbs rape panels
Ten years after the hysteria of "death panels" come terrifyingly real calls for rape panels, where anti-abortion zealots get to sit in judgement on a case-by-case basis to decide whether or not sexual assault victims will be granted access to abortion care. Proposed by Bo Hines, one of the next generation of slimy, dead-eyed and coal-hearted Republican radicals hoping to wield the levers of power in Congress, it's clear that dystopia is right around the corner unless we turn out in record numbers on Election Day.

Arson attack on Tulsa donut shop hosting a drag event follows right-wing media campaign of fear

Ex-housekeeper for Jeff Bezos files discrimination lawsuit
A former housekeeper for Amazon oligarch Jeff Bezos says she and other employees suffered unsafe working conditions that included being forced to climb out a laundry room window to get to a bathroom anytime the Bezos family was home. Exactly the kind of behavior you'd expect from a sociopathic billionaire who forces his drivers to piss in bottles and runs his warehouses like a knock-off Mussolini.
This could be our last election if we don't win
Wisconsin Democrats: GOP governor candidate Tim Michels promised Republicans “will never lose another election” if he wins next week. They will stop at nothing to dismantle our democracy and install a one-party rule, forcibly imposing their extremist agenda on an unwilling public. The United Nations overwhelmingly votes to condemn the US embargo on Cuba for the 30th time
The inhumane, 62-year-old embargo of Cuba, which was installed deliberately to impose such severe hardship on Cubans to provoke revolt against the government, was once again condemned by nearly the entire world — except, of course, for the United States and Israel, which maintains its own brutal embargo of the Palestinian territories. Imagine seeing the whole world speak out against this and still think that Cubans are the "bad guys."

The local party apparatus of New York's bluest bastions appears frighteningly unconcerned about the threat posed by Trumper radical Lee Zeldin in a surprisingly close race for New York governor. Activists were befuddled when it was revealed the money from a bigwig fundraiser attended by current Governor Kathy Hochul herself would be going not to organizing but to paying salaries and "operating costs."

Today’s Action: Protect abortion rights in Kentucky!
In all 50 states, crucial races up and down the ballot next Tuesday could turn the tide in the we-can’t-believe-we’re-still-having-to-fight-this-fight for abortion rights. The Supreme Court’s disastrous overturning of Roe v. Wade this summer placed the lives of pregnant women throughout the country at even greater risk, with those in red states subjected to extremist trigger laws designed to force them to carry unwanted and dangerous pregnancies to term without exception.
For us here at OD Action, that threat is deeply personal — Kentucky, a state deeply at risk for losing abortion care, is our home base. It’s a state where voters are historically disenfranchised and exploited, where communities suffer without proper support from negligent legislators, and conservative politicians who are completely unrepresentative of their constituents — we’re looking at you, Mitch McConnell — call the shots.
Protect Kentucky Access is hosting virtual phone banking EVERY DAY until Election Day to fight for reproductive healthcare and against a far-right amendment to ban abortion altogether in the state. Just an hour out of your day could mean reaching the voters necessary to secure reproductive healthcare for our commonwealth — national allyship could mean a world of difference for Kentuckians in this fight.
Find an hour you’re free before Election Day and commit to calling voters with Protect Kentucky Access from the comfort of your own home! You just need a computer, a phone, and a willingness to do good work.
