The time has finally arrived.
We’re entering the period known as the “final four.” It’s pretty self explanatory -- it means the last four days before the election. It’s also known as “GOTV,” or Get Out The Vote.
That means Team Slotkin is about to have a *constant* presence around the new 7th. We’ll have 8 locations in the 2,813 square miles of the district that will serve as home bases for our organizers and volunteers as they make our final push to knock on thousands of doors and make even more phone calls.
The name of the game is turnout. We’re looking to get in touch with voters who haven't cast a ballot yet, making sure they have a plan to get to the polls and resolve any questions or issues they might have -- or, let them know how to drop off their absentee ballots. (One fifth of registered voters in this district have already voted via absentee ballot!)
We’re not taking our foot off the gas for even a moment – and that means having the resources we need to make it happen. The money we raise in these four days goes directly out the door into the voter contact efforts I just mentioned almost instantly. It goes right into the tangible things that our volunteers might need - all 663 of the folks doing a volunteer shift with us over the last four days. Rain pouches, coffee and donuts, pizza, hand warmers, you name it!
