Dear John,
As the New Year quickly approaches,
I want to tell you a story.
This month our team provided our
violence prevention program to a school's entire seventh grade -
nearly 300 students! In one of our sessions, we focus on self esteem. We know that
exploiters target children who are isolated and have low self esteem.
During session two they learned skills to build self esteem and build
stronger support with their peers. The activities we do in these
sessions are challenging, and we witnessed students implement these
skills immediately.
We recently had a student tell us
“I learned that the people around me aren’t as critical
as I thought. I wouldn’t be able to do that because I have bad
anxiety. So, thank you.”
Your financial
support is what makes stories like this possible.
Since our program
director joined us this spring, we have had a presence in ten schools
and youth centers, where we have provided prevention education to
640 students and trained 303
teachers and social workers. Additionally, we have given trafficking awareness
presentations to 270 community members.
Help us
reach our Year-End goal and fund our South Sound Prevention
Project. Right
now, our funding allows us to provide training on a limited basis.
With your help, we CAN reach more students in Tacoma School District.
Every child deserves the skills they need to be safe.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 by December 31st to fund this
project - Your support could
go to provide:
$2,500 Full
Package Training (1 School’s
Students, Faculty, and Staff)
$1,000 Student
Prevention Programming (1
School)
$500 School
Faculty and Staff Training (1
School)
$250 Human
Trafficking 101 Community Training (1 School)
Thank you for your continued
commitment to our shared dream of preventing human trafficking.
To support our goal of raising $10,000 for the South
Sound Prevention Project, donate online at traffickingprevention.org/donate.
Thank you and happy holidays from
all of us here at WTP,
