The Washington Post reports "This November’s midterm elections are likely
to bring a wave of election deniers into Congress and top state-level jobs
overseeing elections in all corners of the country... If elected, these
officials could make it harder to vote, allow endless audits of election
results, or even refuse to sign off on them."

This is exactly what Liz Cheney has been warning of, recently saying "We
cannot give people power who have told us they will not honor elections…
It’s important for the nation and for the future functioning of our
constitutional republic."

across the country have been donating to Democratic, pro-democracy
Secretary of State campaigns in key battleground states to protect the
offices that will oversee the 2024 election.

Minnesota, and Nevada? These officials could be our last line of defense
against efforts to overthrow our democracy -- and every dollar donated

President Biden echoed these fears, saying: "MAGA Republicans do not
respect the Constitution... And they’re working right now in state after
state to give power to decide elections in America to partisans and
cronies, empowering election deniers to undermine democracy itself."

The Washington Post reporting highlighted multiple instances of attacks or
threats against election officials all around the country, including
against the Secretary of State in Colorado.

One election official in a pro-Trump area of Wisconsin said "I used to be
the pillar of my community, and now I’m being treated like the pariah."

The Republican head of elections in Maricopa County, Arizona said "It’s
now open season on election officials."

And the Post has already reported that "Republicans are spending millions
to recruit partisan poll workers and watchers, who could disrupt the
counting process or raise false claims about it."
