This is a code-red crisis: The new State of the Birds Report revealed more than half of U.S. bird species are in decline. Of those, 70 species, including the beloved Rufous Hummingbird, are at a “Tipping Point”—birds that have lost 50% or more of their populations in the past 50 years and are on track to lose another half or more in the coming decades.

They can’t ask for your help. So we’re asking for them. Make your monthly gift while, thanks to a group of generous donors, it will help unlock $10,000 more for the birds you love. The deadline is at midnight tonight, so be one of the 15 caring friends we need to join us before this amazing chance to amplify your impact ends.

Birds are at a tipping point
More than half of U.S. bird species are in decline.
389 North American bird species are at increasing risk of climate extinction.
We’ve lost 3 billion birds in the span of a human lifetime.

Using our more than a century of expertise and our proven combination of committed advocacy, empowering education, and expert on-the-ground conservation, we’ve been able to deliver meaningful results for birds and their habitats. Take the work with waterfowl and waterbirds: After 40 years of concerted wetland conservation efforts, their populations overall have increased 34% and 18%, respectively. From the Everglades to the Central Valley of California, Audubon’s efforts and partnerships have made a positive impact. And we’re confident that similar efforts can provide recovery for other birds like the Rufous Hummingbird.

But this is only possible with the support of caring bird lovers like you. So please, make your monthly gift before midnight tonight, while it will help unlock $10,000 more for birds and their habitats.

Sincerely,

National Audubon Society
