G7 Ministers Meet on Russia-Ukraine

Ministers from the Group of Seven nations, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken, are meeting for two days starting Thursday to discuss Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The talks come about a year after the G-7 promised to impose “massive consequences” on Russia if it invaded Ukraine, as the Washington Post reports.

Netanyahu Returns to Power

Prime Minister Yair Lapid of Israel conceded Israel’s election on Thursday evening to Benjamin Netanyahu, paving the way for him to return as prime minister at the helm of one of the most right-wing governments in Israeli history, as the NYT reports.

NK Launches Six More Missiles

North Korea fired an intercontinental ballistic missile and two short-range ballistic missiles Thursday morning, triggering emergency warnings for Japanese citizens in northern prefectures to seek shelter, as the WSJ reports.

A day after firing at least 23 missiles, its largest deployment ever in a single day, North Korea continued to escalate tensions on Thursday morning by launching six more, including what South Korean defense officials said was an intercontinental ballistic missile.
