Cori Bush made history in 2020 when she defeated a 10-term incumbent in the Democratic primary and was elected as the first Black woman to represent Missouri in Congress.
In Congress, Rep. Bush has pushed for progressive change on issues including housing insecurity, police reform, and environmental justice. During the summer of 2021, Bush led a multi-day protest on the steps of the US Capitol, which pressured President Biden to extend the eviction moratorium and keep people housed during a deadly wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
