In just the past four days, a super PAC has spent more than $1 million attacking WFP champion Summer Lee.
Let us rewind for just a moment, John: Earlier this year, we saw an unprecedented avalanche of right wing and corporate super PAC spending. The biggest new conservative spender was AIPAC’s super PAC, called the “United Democracy Project.” This is the super PAC that has dropped $1 million in PA-12 in just four days — after spending $2.3 million attacking Summer during her primary.
We can’t afford to lose out on sending a progressive champion like Summer to Congress because of dark money attacks like this. Which is why we’re launching a new ad in response to remind voters who’s really in their corner.

We know that progressives can get outspent and still win — Summer proved it last May when she pulled ahead to win the Democratic primary for PA-12. But it’s one thing to be outspent 2-1; it’s something else entirely to get outspent 5-1 or 10-1. This kind of lopsided resource advantage is hard for anyone to overcome and we saw its devastating effect in other House races.
AIPAC and the United Democracy Project have made their values clear. They are supporting an extremist Republican who will vote to ban abortion, attack Medicare, and cut Social Security.
Summer Lee couldn’t be more different from that, John. She’s a native Pennsylvanian, and a history-making community organizer and public servant, who will continue the fight to raise the minimum wage, create sustainable jobs, strengthen abortion rights, and win racial and gender equity.
With just five days left until Election Day, we’re doing everything we can to help Summer fight back against this onslaught, while showing everyone we can take on big corporate money and win.
