Early vote turnout is down in Texas, team!

The Texas Tribune is reporting that after a week of early voting, turnout in Texas is down compared to the 2018 midterms.

Here are the facts:

• As of yesterday: 2.7 million Texans (19% of voters) voted in the biggest 30 counties 
• In 2018: more than 3.3 million Texans (27% of voters) voted in the biggest 30 counties by this point 

BUT…

• We know that Texas voter registration INCREASED by 12% since 2018…so we can still turn out these voters ahead of Election Day!

With early voting down compared to 2018, we need to push HARD these last six days to turn out voters—especially young and infrequent voters who could make the difference for Beto O’Rourke. Team, Texas Republicans have done everything in their power to keep people away from the polls. But despite their efforts, voter registration jumped 12% since 2018. Many of these registrations are from first-time voters or people who don’t often vote in elections.
