Dear People,

We'll always remember 2019 as the year that Science for the People magazine relaunched--and connected with so many activists and readers around the world. THANK YOU for your continued support, feedback, and efforts. You're helping us establish new Science for the People chapters, attend and create more events in local communities, and, of course, publish SftP magazine.

If you're a subscriber to Science for the People, watch for it to arrive in your mailbox in the coming days. If you're not, subscribe now ([link removed]) !

From all of us to all of you, happy new year. We'll see you in the streets in 2020!

Envisioning and Enacting the Science We Need

SftP's second issue focuses on the need to build sites of radical science in practice, through engaging the public in scientific endeavors and decolonizing our institutions and practices. Read our letter from the editorial collective ([link removed]) to learn more and check out new content, including:
* The Lucas Plan— ([link removed]) An Idea Whose Time Has Come? ([link removed]) : how aerospace engineers created a socialist vision of production for human need, not war, in the 1970s
* Psychology and Neuroscience Beyond the Binary ([link removed]) : the fight for trans rights in STEM fields (and everywhere)
* Science and Technology Beyond Sin or Savior ([link removed]) , a review of How to Do Nothing: can it help us resist capitalism's encroachment into our every interaction?
* Mni Wiconi, Water is Life ([link removed]) : the Indigenous-led struggle to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline in AWAKE, A Dream from Standing Rock

There's much more to come, so bookmark magazine.scienceforthepeople.org and check back often.
