, Elisna* was just three months old when a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti in August 2021. His home and his mother’s livelihood were destroyed, and as his family struggled to recover, Elisna’s growth and development were severely stunted.
Seven months after the earthquake, worried that he was losing weight and unable to walk or talk, Elisna’s mother sought support from Save the Children. Elisna received therapeutic food and counseling, and today he’s able to say “Mama” and “Papa.”
We recently sat down with Elisna’s mother, Léa, to hear their story, and today, we’re sharing it with you. Check it out now to read Elisna’s story in his mother’s words.
