AG Nessel Issues Statement on Michigan Supreme Court?Order to Uphold Election Guidance?
LANSING ? Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel issued the following statement following the Michigan Supreme Court?s granting of a stay sought by the Department of Attorney General in?O?Halloran, et al.v Benson & Brater,?Case No. 164955?and?DeVisser, et al v Benson, et al, Case No. 164956: ?
?This important action by the Court ensures protections for poll workers and confidentiality for Michigan voters,? said Nessel. ?Guidance issued by the Bureau of Elections and used in August for the 2022 primary will remain in effect for the election on November 8. Changes to that guidance at this late date would have caused unnecessary confusion for election workers and voters.??
