John – There is breaking news out of Nashville of a blatant attempt to suppress votes, and Odessa Kelly needs our help to fight back.

For over 200 years the city of Nashville was represented by a single congressional district.

But this year, the Republican-controlled state legislature of Tennessee carved the city up into three different districts to dilute the power of Black and brown voters in central Tennessee.

Now, this week election officials in Tennessee admitted that hundreds of voters were given bad ballots and cast their votes in the wrong congressional district in Nashville, where Odessa is running to flip TN-07.

At least 200 ballots that were supposed to have been cast for Odessa Kelly in TN-07 were instead allocated to a different Democratic candidate in another district.

Odessa said it best. Whether this was intentional or not, the end result is the same. This is voter suppression.

The election officials responsible for this mess claim there is nothing that can be done, because they have no process to allow someone to change their ballot once cast – even when the voter was not in any way at fault.

Odessa is responding by organizing and driving turnout to the polls while the team considers ALL of their options.

The biggest fear is that this news will cause voters to give up and skip out on voting altogether – and we cannot allow that to happen, John.

We are going to fight for every single vote because we do not have the luxury of being discouraged and giving up.

They want to stop our voices from being heard but we will not back down, because we are fighting for our future and the future of our children.
