Did you know that 31% of all charitable giving occurs in the month of December? If it were distributed evenly across the year, that number would be just over 8%. Significant, but not overwhelming.

Yet consider that, of this 31%, more than a third happens within the last three days. With an even distribution, that number would be 0.8%. In other words, for nonprofit organizations, it’s crunch time. Indeed, 2019 was a banner year for the Institute. We saw more people engage with PRI research than ever before, thanks to an aggressive program of media appearances, policy papers, and op-eds – in addition to hosting numerous speakers across the state, putting on policy conferences, and releasing a weekly podcast featuring interviews with policymakers and free market scholars. 

With a critical election year ahead, though, this is not the time for complacency. It is far from assured that freedom, opportunity, and personal responsibility will be more secure at the end of 2020 than they are today.
