This is Adri Perez, reaching out to introduce myself as Texas Freedom Network’s new Organizing Director. I couldn’t be more excited to join the TFN team, especially during such a crucial time in Texas—election season!

Texas Rising, TFN’s youth organizing project, was my first home as an organizer. It was the first program that invested in me as a young person, truly cared about my community, taught me core organizing skills, and fostered my belief in the power of organizing. S ince then, I’ve spent over eight years dedicating my life to ensuring that folks exercise the right so many organizers before me fought to achieve: the right to vote.

Now, as the Organizing Director at Texas Freedom Network, I’m ready to use the skills I learned as a young organizer to turn hope (and anger) into action. I know that a Texas where all people are seen, respected, and valued is possible. To me, organizing is about coming together to build the world we want to see! By engaging and mobilizing our communities, we can take action to step into our collective power.
