I had to make sure you saw this, Diane. Last night, I debated my Trump-backed opponent.

While I'm focused on delivering for the people of this great state, my Trump-backed opponent, like her leader, focuses on spreading conspiracy and fear no matter how dishonest or misleading they may be. And now her staunch allies – a right-wing super PAC and Rick Scott of the National Republican Senatorial Committee – have launched a significant ad buy to try and defeat me.

So with just five days left to protect this seat, I still need to raise another $4,324 to hit our post-debate goal and keep fighting back against the GOP's attacks. So please, will you chip in whatever you can to ensure I win re-election, protect this seat, and defend Democratic control of the Senate?

Friend – I just stepped off the stage after debating my Trump-endorsed opponent.

I was unsurprised that my opponent launched misleading and unfounded attacks against me, but here's the truth I hope you'll take to heart: I'm proud of the work I've done here to improve the lives of the people of Connecticut, and I'll never stop fighting to do what's right for the people of this great state.
