Dear MoveOn member,
No matter what cause I am fighting for, I'm always inspired when MoveOn members are at my side. Together we fended off Republican attacks on Obamacare. Together we resisted Trump and elected Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. MoveOn members were with me when I argued for marijuana reform, when I opposed Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett’s nominations, and when we passed the Inflation Reduction Act to invest in our climate and lower drug prices.
And I clearly remember MoveOn members alongside me when we confirmed Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson as the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court.
MoveOn members are tenacious, kind, creative, passionate, and you leave it all on the table.
And that's why I'm asking you to do it once more: Can you join a virtual phone bank in any of these final five days up through Tuesday, November 8, to mobilize the very voters who can determine some of the closest races this election?
Yes, I'll sign up now to contact voters and help us win.
No, I can't join a phone bank—but I can make a plan to vote.
You all give me so much hope.
Hope that we can expand our Democratic Senate majority, hold the House, and use our majorities to fight for a progressive economic vision, abortion access, workers’ rights, the climate, LGBTQ+ equality, racial justice, and so much more.
Hope that up and down the ballot, we elect governors and secretaries of state who will preserve our republic.
Hope that we’ll continue to be in the majority on the Senate Judiciary Committee where a Democratic Senate can confirm more judges in the mold of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.
I know that MoveOn's millions of members are helping secure our democracy in a plethora of ways—you're donating, you're door-knocking, you're sharing your stories, you're reaching out to all your friends and family members, you're talking about the stakes of this election.
Now, there are five more days in which you can work with MoveOn to reach out to voters directly—voters who are on our side, but may need a nudge—and urge them to make their plans to vote and help them reach out to their own networks as well. Just sign up now and we can do this, together.
Studies have shown that these types of direct conversations that you'll be having are among the most effective techniques to help get out the vote. And the kind of outreach these voters can do to their own contacts—that you can help them do—could swing the closest races this year.
There are only about 120 hours left until the final polls close in Hawai'i on November 8, and we can and must spend as many of them as we can talking to voters, sharing our values, supporting proud, progressive Democratic candidates, and giving us the chance to keep governing for an America that works for all.
Please sign up and get calling! We need you!
Thanks for all you do.
–Cory Booker
P.S. If you can't make calls, there are other ways to help. You can still rush a final donation to MoveOn's election program. They'll put that money directly into voter contact efforts, immediately. Or, this Sunday, November 6, join MoveOn's virtual Rally for Democracy—get fired up with great guest speakers and plugged into the most critical work in the final hours of this election.
P.P.S. Last week, I had the pleasure of speaking with MoveOn's Executive Director Rahna Epting and author Steve Phillips about his new book, "How We Win the Civil War." If you want to catch our discussion on how to build the multiracial movement to strengthen American democracy, check it out here. And then, of course, start making some phone calls to voters.
Will you support MoveOn's efforts to win this election? The MoveOn community will work every moment, day by day and year by year, to resist Trump's agenda, contain the damage, defeat hate with love, and begin the process of swinging the nation's pendulum back toward sanity, decency, and the kind of future that we must never give up on. And to do it we need your support, now more than ever.
