Movie Screening & Debate:
How can we fix the global housing crisis?
[14]
Housing is a fundamental human right, a precondition for a safe and healthy
life. But in cities all around the world, having a place to live is
becoming increasingly difficult. What are the factors that make housing one
of today’s most pressing world issues? And how can we fight for more
affordable housing?
In this edition of THE GREEN SCREEN we show 'PUSH' (2019) from
award-winning director Fredrik Gertten. In the film, he investigates why we
can no longer afford to live in our own cities anymore. The movie is
available for free from NOVEMBER 4 - 10.
GET YOUR FREE TICKET
In addition to our movie screening, we will also host an ONLINE DEBATE
about the housing crisis and the right to housing. You can join the debate
live on YouTube: TUESDAY, 8 NOVEMBER, 19:00 CEST.

Finland: Greens win fight for safe and legal abortion
The Finnish Greens, Vihreät, have consistently fought for safe, legal and
accessible abortion and have worked hard to protect the right to abortion
access in Finland. When entering the current coalition, they made sure to
put feminist policy to the core of the government's agenda. Now, Finland's
abortion law is being reformed improving the right to bodily
self-determination significantly. Learn more about this success! [22] [22]

tilt! - The ChangeMaking Network
[28]
Stop the mass slaughter of male chicks now!
Did you know that 330 million newborn male chicks are being ground up or
gassed while fully conscious each year?
All because they are useless to corporations focused only on maximizing
their profits.
They are born to be immediately slaughtered as they are not laying eggs and
are not fattened as easily as “broilers” bred for meat.
TILT's new campaign highlights the issue of mass slaughter of male chicks
in the chicken industry. Some countries implemented a ban on the national
level, but we demand more.
WE EXPECT THE EUROPEAN UNION AND ALL ITS MEMBER STATES TO TAKE A STRONG
STANCE AND INTRODUCE A FULL BAN ON KILLING MALE CHICKS IMMEDIATELY.

Repairing your phone should be cheap and easy!
Companies have made repairing devices difficult and expensive, because it
is profitable for them. In the system, it’s the consumer and environment
who pay the price. Good news: the European Commission is set to launch a
repair score, a label that will rate a product based on how easy and cheap
it is to repair it. But, they plan not to include something crucial: the
price of spare parts.
SIGN OUR PETITION TO MAKE REPAIRING AFFORDABLE! [31]
PUTIN WON'T WIN!
Last plenary session Greens/EFA co-president Terry Reintke intervened [32]
in the debate on the EU summit: "The EU faces a brutal authoritarian
backlash against democracy, freedom and equality. Putin is taking advantage
of it to divide and weaken us. But if we work together for more social
equality and energy independence, Putin won't win."
