Tips and Reminders
* **Cost -?**More expensive doesn't necessarily mean better. Think about your budget and what you actually need from your footwear. Before making a purchase do some research, check product reviews, and don't be afraid to ask around for suggestions. If you you're not in a hurry, be patient and look for those "end-of-season" and "off-season" discounts.? ??
* *Comfort -*?Be sure to give your new hunting footwear a good test before heading out. Do they offer sufficient support? Do they chafe or rub? Perhaps they just need to be broken in. Discovering these issues in advance, will give you an opportunity to address them before your hunt has been impacted.? ? ?
* *Conditions* ? Maine hunting can throw a lot of different weather conditions at the hunter, so it is important to be prepared. Depending on the conditions you will encounter, and the method(s) used to hunt (e.g. walking, sitting, or both), you will want to select the footwear that will best meet your needs.
* *Features -?*Hunting footwear today offers a whole host of options. But when making your selection, you will want to at least to consider the following features: footwear height, weight, durability, tread type, and material(s) used. Are they waterproof, scent proof, and/or breathable? Do they offer adequate ankle support?? ? ?
* *Extras -?*Last, but definitely not least, there are a couple of things that you can do to enhance your footwear. Look for a sock or socks that will compliment your new purchase. Socks are offered in a variety of weights, materials, and some are even heated for those extremely cold days! Also boot dryers and removable insoles and liners can help to dry your footwear between use and keep them performing at their very best!? ?
