Funding for 350 Chicago allows us to run programs like "Promise to Protect". Native Americans and 350.org staffers led 2000 people in 10 different US cities through Non-Violent Direct Action (NVDA) training this summer, readying thousands to mobilize in the path of new pipeline infrastructure. This NVDA training specifically emphasized how to stop new fossil fuel infrastructure while being a good neighbor to indigenous communities.

In Chicago, we trained 100 people who have promised to protect our water, land, air, and front-line communities when called upon. I personally went through this profound training and felt so inspired and motivated. I feel ready to protect our natural resources with more sensitivity and understanding for the desires and needs of the indigenous community.
