John, Election Day is less than a week away, and we’re getting conflicting signals.

First, the bad news: Across the country, Republican lawmakers have passed onerous new voter suppression measures. CNN is reporting that these GOP laws could “make it harder to replicate the record turnout” that helped Democrats win in 2020.

The NDRC has endorsed nearly 500 Democracy Defenders in key races across the country, many of whom are in tied races with their extreme GOP opponents. That means Republican voter suppression tactics could make or break their chances of victory!

But here’s the good news: Despite these challenges, we’re seeing high early vote turnout in must-win states like Arizona and Georgia! Americans are making it clear that they’re determined to show up and make their voices heard in this election.

We know that, when turnout is high, Democrats win. But with the polls showing tight races in battleground states, we can’t afford to take anything for granted.
