Tomorrow, we'll be in 2020 – the year they've been talking about since I was first elected. Mitch McConnell's been running his numbers this entire time, and he knows that he needs a win in Alabama if he's going to keep his hold on the Senate. Mitch wants to count me out – and he needs you to do the same.
Well, I don’t buy it – and neither should you. Did you see that the Cook Political Report gave our race the same rating it did two years ago during the height of the Roy Moore scandals? We can win this thing.
I know the people of Alabama. I know the very real victories we’ve shared over the past two years – and even just in the last few weeks. I know how to work across the aisle to find real solutions for real people. And I know how to bring people together.
I don’t doubt that our win next year will be a challenge. But while they’re telling you it can’t be done, we’re already building one victory on top of another. Whether it’s ending the Widow’s Tax, securing paid family leave for federal employees, or funding our HBCUs, we are making a real impact in people’s lives without driving them apart.
I am asking you one last time in 2019 to make sure we can win in 2020. Please make a contribution and help us show the dividers and extremists in DC how strong we are together.
