In Allegheny County, voter turnout trends mirror the disparities and inequalities present in the region, and the county’s most challenged communities often have the quietest voice at the ballot box.
After months of door-knockers, election texts and campaign ads, the outcomes of an election that could be a turning point for Pennsylvania will come down to one thing: voter turnout.
Advocates and local officials who spoke with PublicSource described an array of issues contributing to low voter turnout in different pockets of Allegheny County.
