John,
In my first year in office, I have been a strong leader and a fighter for Michigan’s middle-class families.
I’ve been focused on doing the right things, like expanding the right to overtime pay, lowering the cost of car insurance, and improving schools in Michigan.
Our team has the right priorities for 2020 and beyond. And I’m ready to work with both parties when I can – and take strong executive action when I need to – so we can get things done, like fixing the damn roads, making health care more affordable, and protecting our drinking water.
We’ve made great progress in 2019, but we need to build on the work we’ve done in 2020. Can you contribute whatever you can before midnight tonight to help us hit our end-of-year goal before the new year?
In 2019, we passed a comprehensive budget that included money to clean up drinking water, protect health coverage for families, strengthen public safety, and restore funding for critical community services across Michigan.
Our team built the most diverse cabinet this state has ever seen, with more people of color, women, and members of the LGBT+ community at the table. We’ve leveled the playing field for Michiganders and are continuing to fight for equity in our state.
We’ve done all of this and more in 2019, and we have much work to do in 2020.
Chip in whatever you can before midnight tonight so we can end the year off on a strong foot.
From my family to yours, have a happy new year!
I’ll see you in 2020,
Gretchen
