KIM BASINGER & CELEBRITIES SIGN LETTER TO CONGRESS
Dear John,
EXCITING NEWS! KIM BASINGER has authored a letter to Congress, along with support from more than 30 celebrities, including BILLIE EILISH, CHARLIZE THERON, JEFF BRIDGES, and BILL MAHER, urging the passage of the Pet Safety and Protection Act (PSPA). The letter was published today in The Hill, an influential US political website, along with an interview with Kim Basinger.
The PSPA would protect stolen and lost dogs and cats from being sold to animal research.

Class B animal dealers are licensed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to sell random-source dogs and cats to animal research. LCA has documented, through multiple undercover investigations, that Class B dealers obtain dogs and cats through nefarious methods, including pet theft and answering "free to good home" ads . Animals suffer under horrendous conditions at the B dealer facility and are then sold for profit to research facilities.
This pet-to-research pipeline must end.
